Planning Your Trip
Planning your trip to Penn Model Congress requires a bit of advanced planning and preparation. Please use this section as a guide, and feel free to contact us with any additional questions or concerns.
Please make a note of our registration deadlines. We must have your online registration and deposit check in order to secure your place at the conference.
It is important to plan your trip in advance and budget all of your expenses. Typical expenses for the conference include:
We realize the conference is a significant expense for many of our delegations. We encourage you to solicit funds from your school and engage in other fundraising activities to help subsidize the cost for delegates.
- Conference Fees
- Hotel Fees
- Transportation Costs
- Meals and Recreation
Delegations travel from across the country to attend Penn Model Congress. We recommend making travel arrangements well in advance to secure the lowest rates and to plan your overall budget. There are several ways to get here:
- Coach Bus: Most delegations located in the Northeast charter a coach or school bus. Overnight parking at both hotels is available upon request.
- Train (Amtrak): The 30th Street Station in Philadelphia is located just over a half mile from Penn's campus. It is a $5 cab fare from the train station to either hotel. Tickets can be booked online at Amtrak.com or by phone at (800) USA-RAIL.
- Air: The Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is located 7 miles southwest of Penn's campus. The cab fare to University City is $28.50 (flate rate), or shuttles (we recommend Lady Libery Shuttle) can be arranged for $10 per person.
Please see the conference schedule for a detailed itinerary. Delegates spend most of their time at the conference in committee sessions. The one important exception is Saturday afternoon, where delegates have 7 hours of free time to spend as they wish. Please visit the Visiting Penn and Exploring Philly sections for some ideas on what to do.
